Teaching & Modeling
July 15, 2014 | Lawrence, KS
It has been a brilliant couple of weeks since my last wedding. Besides relaxing in the summer rays (in reality burning in the summer rays) and going on vacation I have been busy planning my fall season. I did get to take some time out the other day and go up to the Douglas County Fairgrounds to teach 4-Hers about portrait photography!
Yes, the good ole 4-H fairgrounds brings back a lot of wonderful memories. I was apart of the Douglas County 4-H program for 12+ years and in reality this was my starter point for my photography career. Not just in the photography project but the other great benefits of leadership, public speaking, and even learning a thing or two about showing/training animals. So when asked to help out I was really excited. I also called upon Mr. Mason Kelso to model for me to do a live demonstration (Mason was one of my Seniors last year). Here are some of the shots I got of Mason, and a couple of the volunteer kids who wanted to practice their modeling skills. The greatest part was watching them pose all of the models. From the beginning to end they all were throwing out poses and commands, and showing their true portrait photographer inside! Thanks so much to the Douglas County Fairgrounds for providing an excellent background and for allowing to teach their youth.
